The fall sensation arrived at the Downtown Bloomington Farmers’ Market on Saturday
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WMBD / WYZZ) – Falling sentiment was in the air on Saturday at the downtown Bloomington Farmers Market.
Pumpkins, corn and bales of straw were on display in the Troyer Family Gardens. Kathy Troyer said customers are starting to shop for fall decorations.
“It’s our first week, we’ve had a lot of fall stuff and not a lot of summer stuff, now that it’s fall, it’s fun,” Troyer said.
She said the season is part of what makes the farmers market fun in October.
“It’s just the change of seasons, which is why I love center Illinois,” Troyer said.
Candice Dodson, of Silver Stag Farm, said she has met a lot of new customers this year who have never visited the market before.
“They are in awe of the market, they are like ‘oh we didn’t even know that was there’ so it’s really great that the word is starting to spread and more and more people are part of it”, Dodson said.
She recommends those who haven’t stopped to visit the farmer’s market, especially as the holiday season approaches.
“We are here every Saturday until the end of October, we will be outside, then we have covered markets in the Colosseum, we have big holiday markets on the weekend before Thanksgiving and Christmas, so definitely go out. , there is something for everyone, ”said Dodson.
There are four more farmers’ markets in October before they move indoors to Grossinger Motors Arena for the indoor season.
