Open-air market to celebrate the harvest
The organizers are keen to provide a safe, relaxing and enjoyable environment.
A celebration to showcase the best of the season will take place in Cavan Town this Sunday, September 5th.
Following the success of their June event, The Cottage Market Cavan is hosting their second food market of 2021 at the Conaty Center, providing an opportunity to meet local food producers and producers.
The program includes small independent food vendors serving an ‘outdoor brunch’ experience, nature-inspired workshops for kids and discussions about fall gardening with Klaus Laitenberger.
There will also be cooking demonstrations by The Oak room and Seamus Lyng, a local fermentation enthusiast, will showcase the incredible food available through the âThe Local Green Box Cavanâ food initiative.
âWe have seen a growing interest in local food and local support over the past 18 months,â says Imelda Mullen, coordinator of The Cottage Market Cavan. “On Sunday September 5th, we will have the opportunity to meet all of our wonderful loyal customers who have supported the local food box during this time, and invite others to discover and celebrate what is available on their doorstep.”
Visitors are encouraged to walk or cycle to this event where possible and bring a picnic blanket and enjoy our ‘summer in the open air’ with nature and local food.
All workshops and conferences must be booked in advance to meet Covid guidelines. To book a conference or workshop, find ‘thelocalgreenboxcavan’ online.
