Governor Tom Wolf announced that Trivium packaging, a metal packaging manufacturer, is expanding its manufacturing operations with upgrades to an existing production line, the installation of a sunken interior dock pit and the expansion of a building to accommodate shipments of steel coils to accommodate new businesses, investing more than $ 7 million in upgrades, keeping 76 jobs at its South Center Township, Columbia County site and creating 48 new full-time jobs.
âIt’s no secret that the Commonwealth is home to a robust and diverse manufacturing industry, to which Trivium has contributed for over 20 years in Pennsylvania,â Governor Wolf said. âWe are excited to support this expansion as Trivium performs upgrades to meet consumer demand while creating nearly 50 new jobs in the region. “
Trivium Packaging offers a variety of sustainable metal packaging with innovative shaping, decorating, embossing, embossing and opening solutions to more than 1,300 customers. The company also has a location in Pittsburgh and has had a presence in its Columbia County facility since 2000.
âWe are extremely excited to see the upcoming developments and upgrades that this new project will bring to our Bloomsburg plant and our global operations,â said Jens Irion, President of Trivium for the Americas. âThe investments also illustrate how important manufacturing still plays to our society, so being able to keep 76 jobs and add 48 makes us extremely proud, as those jobs will provide good wages and benefits to individuals and their communities. We thank the governor’s office for giving us this opportunity.
The company received a funding proposal from the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) for a Pennsylvania First grant of $ 144,000, a loan of $ 400,000 from the Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority (PIDA) and was encouraged to apply for the Ministry’s Manufacturing Tax Credit (MTC) program. The company has pledged to invest $ 7.17 million in the project and create at least 48 new jobs over the next three years.
The project was coordinated by the Governor’s Action Team, an experienced group of economic development professionals who report directly to the Governor and work with companies planning to locate or expand in Pennsylvania.
