Denny’s modernizes its digital consumer offerings
Denny’s Corp. modernized several of its consumer digital platforms on Thursday, relaunching its website, streamlining orders through Denny’s on Demand and offering more personalization to customers.
The family-owned restaurant brand based in Spartanburg, South Carolina, said it strives to make its digital platforms as personalized as the customer experience at the company’s more than 1,500 Denny’s locations.
“We’re excited to offer the millions of guests who choose Denny’s a more convenient dining experience when, where and how they want,” John Dillon, Denny’s brand manager, said in a statement. “Providing a seamless digital experience gives current and new customers more convenient ways to enjoy America’s Diner. “
Among the changes introduced Thursday, Denny’s proposed:
- A new digital application: Available on iOS for iPhone and Android, it gives customers access to the latest Denny’s news, including menu updates.
- Denny’s on demand: Customers can place take out, curbside pick up or deliver orders. At checkout, it offers up-selling and cross-selling capabilities. Customers can also easily locate the nearest Denny’s location.
- Custom profiles: Customers can create profiles and save their favorite dishes, locations and payment information to facilitate ordering.
- Digital wallets for rewards: A new sign-in experience, including a digital wallet, allows Loyalty Rewards members to access promotions, both in-restaurant and online.
The company said the changes were aimed at increasing ticket sizes and frequency of guests. The technology also allows Denny’s to make rapid improvements and add new functionality to the platforms.
“Today’s launch is the first major step in our mission to redefine the way the modern American family dines together and establish Denny’s as the leader in digital customer experience,” said Michael Furlow, director of Denny’s information. “Evolving our digital capabilities is a key part of our long-term vision and growth strategy and delivers the best of Denny’s at an important time for our business and our customers.
As of June 30, Denny’s had 1,645 franchised, licensed and company-owned restaurants worldwide.
