Australian manufacturers are developing a bed that keeps you watch … and more

Australia’s manufacturing industry continues to scale up to innovate, invest and develop local opportunities with global potential with the announcement of the latest round of co-invested projects through the Advanced Manufacturing Growth Center Marketing Fund .
Addressing many of the six national manufacturing priorities, recent winners include:
- Sea Forest Ltd (TAS) – Food and Beverage – Develop and manufacture a new method to supply oil-based Asparagopsis algae as an additive to feed solutions for milk, beef and wool of cattle to radically reduce methane emissions linked to digestion. Total project commitment $ 3.24 million ($ 675,000 from the Marketing Fund)
- MolyCop (NSW) – Recycling – Develop and scale recycled rubber from tires, conveyor belts and boots, to be used as hydrogen and carbon inputs for the manufacture of green steel. Total project commitment $ 2.4 million ($ 750,000 from the Marketing Fund)
- Sleeptite (VIC) – Medical – Marketing of the revolutionary REMi® system which integrates flexible and expandable sensors into a medical grade mattress protector for the elderly care sector. REMi® will assist healthcare personnel in the prevention of falls, the management of pressure ulcers and night-time surveillance by collecting data in a non-invasive and discreet manner. Total project commitment $ 1.95 million ($ 872,004 from the Marketing Fund)
- Nexxis (WA) – Resources Technology & Critical Minerals Processing – will market Magneto, its multi-branch, climbing asset inspection robot. Total project commitment $ 1.86 million ($ 675,002 from the Marketing Fund)
- Savic (VIC) – Clean Energy – Design, development and production of the first high performance battery electric motorcycle made in Australia. Total project commitment $ 1.14 million ($ 657,482 from the Marketing Fund)
- Samsara (NSW) – Recycling – Establishment of a pilot plant using a new plastics recycling facility and a process using revolutionary enzyme technology. Total project commitment $ 1.14 million ($ 568,491 from the Marketing Fund)
- Ellen Medical Devices (NSW) – Medical Products – Portable peritoneal dialysis system for developing countries where a significant need for affordable home dialysis is urgently needed. Total Project Commitment $ 1.04 Million ($ 427,500 from the Marketing Fund) § Kinaltek (NSW) – Resource Technology and Critical Mineral Processing – Prove and develop proprietary technology for the production of metal alloy powders based on 27 different elements used in additive manufacturing. Total project commitment $ 1.19 million ($ 500,000 from the Marketing Fund)
